This LG refrigerator has a large capacity, yet it is very practical for a family of five. The appearance is sleek and modern, and the UV light at the dispenser looks stylish. The stainless steel doors with square handles are fairly resistant to fingerprints. One downside of the model is that the sides of the refrigerator are not finished in the same material as the front, so it is actually more suitable for built-in placement.

The layout differs slightly from our previous LG model. There is no divider in the door bins to keep smaller bottles in place. However, anti-slip material has been added, so items do not slide around when opening the refrigerator door. I do miss the shallow top compartment in the refrigerator door for smaller items such as butter or small jars of jam.

The door bins are very spacious, and a 2-liter milk carton now fits horizontally. The interior of the refrigerator offers a lot of storage space, although the shelves are fixed, which means some soft drink bottles cannot be placed upright. Each shelf has plenty of depth, and thanks to the height, everything is easy to reach. The metallic finish of the shelves looks neat and premium. The same applies to the freezer section. An extra (third) drawer would have been useful, although the use of shelves also has advantages. You can quickly grab what you need from the freezer without losing too much cold air.

If the door is left open, a warning signal sounds, which is very convenient with distracted teenagers in the house. The sound of the fan cooling the compressor can occasionally be heard, but this is unavoidable. The refrigerator is equipped with several features focused on efficiency, energy savings, and hygiene. The Multi Air Flow technology distributes cold air evenly. It has a “Metal Fresh” back wall and a “Smart Inverter Compressor” that monitors the cooling demand inside the refrigerator and adjusts the speed accordingly, so only the necessary amount of energy is used. The “Fresh Converter” allows you to select the optimal temperature setting for different types of food using a slider in the drawers. The vegetables we store there indeed stay fresh for a long time. The SuperFreeze function can be used when you want to freeze food quickly. With energy label D, I am pleasantly surprised by the refrigerator’s energy consumption, which I can monitor through my energy supplier’s app.

Through the LG “ThinQ” app, you can connect to the refrigerator and see how to use it as efficiently as possible. LG provides a “Smart Diagnosis” with recommendations based on your personal usage. It is a nice feature, although in practice I do not check it often.

The refrigerator always provides filtered cold water, ice cubes, and crushed ice, which we use regularly and which will be especially pleasant during the summer months. The ice is produced via a spacious water tank inside the refrigerator, so no additional connection to the water supply is required. However, it is important to keep everything clean and to replace the water if it has been unused for too long, as well as refill it regularly. The noise when making ice cubes is quite loud. In an open kitchen, you will hear this several times a day. I also miss a drip tray at the dispenser, as I occasionally notice some drops left behind. Nevertheless, this feature remains a major advantage of the refrigerator.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this spacious and relatively energy-efficient LG refrigerator that cools my products well and offers useful extra features. Finally, the LG technician deserves a ten out of ten for service and clear explanations.
